ICE Robertson Release Meaning
Immigration custody is a separate federal system. A Robertson County record may show release from the county jail because ICE or another jurisdiction assumed custody. That entry establishes the end of the county booking. It does not establish that the person entered the community or later left ICE.
No ICE detention center or ICE contract was verified specifically in Robertson County. Use the national Online Detainee Locator System, known as ODLS, when the record supports immigration custody. Do not infer ICE involvement merely because the county Corrections Division serves United States judicial systems. Federal criminal custody may instead belong to USMS or BOP.
Search ICE Robertson Records
ODLS offers two identity routes. The strongest uses the person’s nine-digit A-number and country of birth. An A-number is the immigration file number; if it has eight digits, the interface may require a leading zero. The second route uses the person’s exact first and last name, country of birth, and optional birth date. Name spelling should match the immigration record.
- Confirm that an ICE transfer is supported by a county, court, or federal record.
- Choose A-number plus country of birth when the number is known.
- Otherwise, enter the exact name and country of birth, then add birth date when available.
- Compare the result with the county booking and other identity facts.
- Record the date checked and contact ICE when a known transfer cannot be resolved.
ODLS excludes people under 18 from public search. A missing result therefore has several possible causes. The person may be a minor, the name may not match, the A-number may be wrong, the record may have moved beyond the recent-release period, or ICE may not be the custodian.
ICE Robertson 60-Day Window
ICE states that ODLS covers people currently detained and people released from ICE custody within the prior 60 days. This is a true recent-release window, but it is immigration-specific and temporary. It is not a permanent federal release archive and it does not extend the county JailTracker record.
The ICE attorney information resource documents that recent-release scope.
The official guidance explains why a person can disappear from ODLS after a known release. Once the recent period passes, absence is inconclusive and a direct ICE or records route is needed.
| ODLS outcome | What it means |
|---|---|
| Current detainee result | ICE reports current immigration custody in the locator. |
| Recent release result | ICE reports departure from its custody within the stated recent window. |
| No result after transfer | Identity, age, timing, data, or the 60-day limit may explain the absence. |
| County release only | Robertson County custody ended; ICE status remains unconfirmed. |
Call ICE About Robertson Custody
When ODLS does not resolve a supported immigration transfer, contact the ICE Detention Reporting and Information Line, known as DRIL, at 1-888-351-4024. The published service hours are Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern. Have identity and custody facts ready.
Useful details include the full name as used in the immigration record, A-number if known, country of birth, birth date, the Robertson County booking number, county release date, and any receiving-agency notation. Ask about the present or recent ICE custody record. Do not ask county staff to interpret an immigration result they do not control.
A direct call can clarify a locator gap but does not create a public release certificate. When a formal record is required, use the appropriate ICE records process and identify the exact custody or release document sought.
Note: ODLS is time-limited after release, so save the access date and request the source record when lasting proof is needed.
Robertson County to ICE
The official Robertson County released detail can show admit and release date and time, time in jail, confining agency, How Released, Release Reason, and charge-level agency information. Those fields help determine whether the county episode ended in community release or a transfer. “Other Jurisdiction” alone does not identify ICE.
If the destination or supporting record names immigration custody, the county release date may be the date ICE custody began. Never use that date as the ICE release date. Search ODLS, then follow DRIL or ICE records if the locator no longer shows the person. If the receiving agency is BOP or USMS, use those federal criminal-custody paths instead.
For an older movement entry, ask the Robertson County Sheriff’s Records Division for the adult booking/release record and jail movement or discharge log. Include full name, birth date if known, booking number, date range, release type, and receiving agency where maintained. The office is at 507 South Brown Street, Springfield, Tennessee 37172, and the phone is 615-384-7971.
Separate ICE Robertson Systems
County, state, federal criminal, and immigration sources serve different roles. The custody trail should determine which one comes next. A result from one system cannot be stretched to cover another.
| System | Proper release use |
|---|---|
| Robertson County Released search | Confirms the county booking’s departure and may show the transfer type. |
| TDOC FOIL | Checks Tennessee state prison or community supervision, not ICE. |
| USMS and federal court | Checks federal pretrial detention, release orders, and delivery to BOP. |
| BOP locator | Checks sentenced federal prison custody and BOP departure. |
| ICE ODLS | Checks current immigration custody and releases within the stated recent period. |
An immigration detainer is a basis for an agency handoff or continued hold. It is not the same as a criminal conviction, TDOC sentence, or BOP sentence. Use the source’s exact term and avoid assumptions about destination.
Get ICE Release Records
ODLS is designed for location and near-term release checks. A formal immigration custody record may require an ICE records request. Identify the person with the A-number when known, exact name, country of birth, birth date, approximate detention dates, and the specific release or transfer record. Privacy and law-enforcement rules may restrict access.
The county source record remains useful when Robertson County made the handoff. Ask for existing fields rather than an explanation created for the request. A focused description can seek the release date and time, How Released, Release Reason, movement entry, and receiving agency. The county’s open-records policy controls its response method and charges.
A court document may explain the criminal case but usually will not prove the exact ICE release date. Immigration proceedings and custody records have their own channels. Preserve each source with its access date so the timeline does not merge the county exit, ICE entry, and ICE release.
Verify an ICE Robertson Release
Use at least two identifiers. An A-number plus country of birth is stronger than a name alone. Compare the ODLS result with the Robertson booking number and release date only to link the episodes, not to replace the ICE facts.
- A-number
- The immigration file identifier used for the strongest ODLS search route.
- Detainer
- A request or authority that can lead one custodian to transfer a person to another.
- County release
- The end of the Robertson County booking, which may be a transfer.
- ICE release
- The end of ICE custody, which ODLS shows only for a limited recent period.
If a known transfer later vanishes from ODLS, report that the person was not found in the locator as checked, not that ICE never held or released the person. Call DRIL and seek the proper record. The Robertson County release search can document the local episode while the immigration source documents its own custody.
When an identity or date appears wrong, send the correction issue to the office that created that field. The sheriff controls the Robertson County movement entry. ICE controls ODLS and its custody record. A court controls its orders. Keeping each statement tied to its source avoids changing a limited recent-release lookup into a claim about a person’s full custody history.
Save the locator result only for a lawful personal, notification, records, or court need, and treat it as a time-stamped lookup rather than a permanent certificate. A later immigration event can change the status. If formal proof matters, ask for the existing release or transfer record and keep the response with the county movement entry that began the follow-up.
