Check Federal BOP Releases

To find someone released from the Federal Bureau of Prisons system after a Robertson County federal case, search the national sentenced-prison record rather than the county jail roster. BOP custody begins after the federal pretrial and sentencing stages, and no federal prison was identified in Robertson County itself. A past BOP release date can confirm departure from that agency. It does not establish release from every possible custodian or the end of federal supervision. Identity, locator status, court records, and any county transfer entry should be read as separate parts of the custody history.

BOP Robertson Release Meaning

The Federal Bureau of Prisons holds sentenced federal prisoners. It is not the Robertson County jail and it is not the U.S. Marshals Service pretrial system. A Robertson County Detention Facility booking can end with transfer to a federal agency, while the BOP record begins at a later federal stage. No separate federal prison in Robertson County was identified.

The BOP explanation of locator records says a past release date with no active facility, Released, or Not in BOP Custody means the person is no longer held by BOP. That finding is narrow. Another jurisdiction could hold the person, and federal supervised release may continue after prison. Supervised release is court-ordered oversight in the community, not BOP incarceration.

Federal scope: A BOP release result confirms the end of BOP custody, not release from all agencies or the end of supervision.

Search BOP Robertson Release Records

The official BOP Inmate Locator covers federal inmates incarcerated from 1982 to the present. It supports exact identifier searches by BOP register number, DCDC number, FBI number, or INS number. A name search accepts first and last name and can be narrowed by age, race, and sex. Use an identifier when possible because names and aliases can collide.

  1. Choose an identifier search when a register or other federal number is known.
  2. Otherwise, enter the legal name and use only supported identity refinements.
  3. Open the matching result and compare the register number, age, race, and sex.
  4. Read the location and release date together.
  5. Record the access date and preserve the exact status wording.

The BOP locator and released-result interface is shown through its official federal search.

Locator fields must be kept in their federal context. Results can show name, register number, age, race, sex, release date, and location. A name alone is weak identification. Match the register number and at least one other identifier before reporting a release.

BOP resultWhat it supports
ReleasedBOP reports that its custody ended.
Not in BOP CustodyThe person is not currently held by BOP; another system or supervision may still apply.
Past date, no facilityA past BOP departure, subject to the locator disclaimer.
Future release dateA generally projected federal date that can change.
UnknownThe confinement term is undetermined in the locator.
In TransitThe person remains in federal custody while moving.

A future date should not be converted into a promise. Sentence computation, court action, credits, holds, and later records may affect it. Likewise, Not in BOP Custody does not disclose where a person went. Follow the federal docket or release record when destination matters.

Note: State FOIL, county JailTracker, ICE ODLS, and BOP each cover a different custodian and cannot substitute for one another.

Robertson to Federal Custody

The Robertson County Corrections Division serves local, state, and United States judicial systems. A person physically held at the county detention facility may therefore be in a county booking while a federal agency controls the case. The county released detail can report when that local episode ended and may identify Other Jurisdiction as the manner of departure.

For a federal pretrial person, check the court release or detention order and the USMS custody path. USMS manages a prisoner from federal arrest through acquittal, court release, or delivery to BOP. Once BOP receives a sentenced prisoner, the locator becomes the main public custody search. These stages can produce different dates without contradiction.

A sound custody timeline may read: county booking opened, Robertson County released the person to another jurisdiction, USMS maintained federal custody, BOP received the sentenced prisoner, and BOP later recorded release. Do not label the first date as the federal prison release.

The public locator is a discovery source. For a fuller federal release record, BOP Form BP-A714, Notice of Release and Arrival, illustrates the fields BOP may maintain. They can include release date and method, institution, supervision, community or detainer disposition, receiving agency, transportation and expected arrival, supervision district, and proposed residence.

Request procedures depend on the record and requester. Use BOP’s FOIA or Privacy Act channels for agency records, and identify the register number, full name, institution, approximate release date, and exact document sought. Public disclosure may be limited by privacy and other federal law. A third party’s access is not the same as the subject’s own access.

The federal court clerk provides the docket, judgment, commitment, and supervised-release terms. Those documents explain the sentence and later judicial action. They do not always show the prison’s physical departure time or receiving agency. Pair them with the BOP locator or release record.

BOP Release and Detainers

A detainer is a notice or authority from another agency that can affect destination when BOP custody ends. Release to a detainer is not release into the community. The receiving agency may be a state, county, federal, or immigration custodian. BOP’s form framework distinguishes community and detainer dispositions for that reason.

If a BOP record shows release while a Robertson County or another agency’s matter remains, follow the receiving system. Use TDOC FOIL for Tennessee state custody, a county jail record for another local booking, and ICE ODLS only when an immigration transfer is supported by the record. Do not infer ICE from a general federal connection.

Federal supervised release is also separate. A person can be outside prison and still subject to reporting and court conditions. The sentencing judgment and federal probation record govern that status, while BOP’s locator answers physical prison custody.

Robertson County Transfer Proof

When the person first appeared in Robertson County custody, open the sheriff’s Released mode and match the individual booking. Useful fields include admit and release dates and times, time in jail, confining agency, How Released, Release Reason, charges, bonds, and arresting or charging agency. If the online window is too short, request the source record.

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Records Division maintains local public records. Ask for the adult booking/release record and jail movement or discharge entry, including the receiving agency where that fact is already recorded. Provide full name, birth date if known, booking number, and a bounded date range. The office is at 507 South Brown Street, Springfield, Tennessee 37172, and the phone is 615-384-7971.

The county record proves county departure. The BOP record proves federal sentenced custody and its later end. For the full Robertson-to-federal history, keep both with the federal court docket. The Robertson County released record route gives the local search and request steps.

Verify BOP Robertson Releases

Use two identifiers and two sources when available. The BOP register number and release date can establish the federal match. A court case number links that person to the judgment. A Robertson County booking number links only the county episode. These numbers should not be treated as interchangeable.

Release date
The date BOP reports its custody ended or is expected to end.
Location
The current federal facility field or a noncustody result.
Register number
The central identifier for the BOP record.
Supervised release
Community oversight imposed by the federal court after confinement.
Detainer
A basis for transfer to another authority when one custody term ends.

State only the proven result. “BOP custody ended” is accurate when the locator says so. “Free from all custody” requires evidence from every relevant system and should not be inferred from a single federal result.

When the locator record appears wrong, use the register number and source documents to direct a correction question to BOP. Robertson County staff can address the county booking, not the federal release field. The federal clerk can address its docket, not the physical BOP departure. Keeping those roles distinct creates a record trail that can be checked later without turning one agency’s entry into a claim about another.

A later BOP result can also reflect a different federal sentence or return to custody. Compare the register number, case number, institution, and dates before joining two episodes. When a release date is material to a court or personal matter, request the source record instead of treating a saved locator image as a certified federal document. Certification must come from the responsible office.
